I like to think of them as my e-links:

This week I met Long Haul Paul. No not in person although it would have been fun. Over the Road is a new eight-part podcast series about the life, the concerns, and the economics of truckers. With its narrator Long Haul Paul, we travel, we meet people, and we listen. Starting with Long Haul Paul’s load of watermelons, the stories are wonderful.

The podcast I most enjoyed this week was an econtalk interview. For almost an hour and a half, I listened to the doctor who started the Surgery Center of Oklahoma. It was fascinating to hear how he calculates the prices he posts. It was valuable to learn about the wheres and whys of medical price distortions. Helping me forget the steep hills I walk and run on. with this one, I stuck with the entire hour and 23 minutes.

I have been troubled that easy sounding fixes to big problems obscure the details. This podcast about Kalamazoo’s free tuition plan provides a campaign promise reality check.
